Coming Soon

I don’t think patience has ever been my strong suit. Thankfully, it’s normally only tested by cookies that take too long to bake and winter months that drag on and on and on. Lately though, my patience has been tried by seemingly every aspect of my life. Rather than boring you with the long list, I’ll skip to the cutest blessing I’m waiting for: Megan and Cale’s baby boy is coming soon! Our family got together in Colorado’s Rockies last weekend, and I got to spend some quality time not only with my amazing family, but also with my camera and a few willing models. I could not be happier and more excited for Megan and Cale (and for having another baby to nap with when I visit home). I’ll post pictures of the twins’ six-month-old shoot soon too…

Time: It’s 9:17 and the husband has already gone to bed.  That man can sleep like a bear but try to read a book in bed.  Game over. He can’t sleep for the life of him. Entertained by: This hilarious picture of when I was 15 weeks pregnant and probably felt huge.  Hint: I am not the one wearing the gray shirt.  Unfortunately, this also is a fabulous reminder that while I may feel huge now (30 weeks!), this belly’s got nothing on how I’m going to look at 40 weeks.  Yikes! Eating: I’m on my 3rd watermelon of the week.  With little help from anyone else.  I almost feel bad about it but then I just go back to the store to get another.  Holy delicious. Dreaming:  Being on a beach.  Preferably a warm sunny beach with cool ocean water steps away.  Our grand plan was to quickly get away before the baby arrived but then Zika virus hit. Thinking: We ahem:: Cale has great plans of getting some major yard work done but the forecast and the sound of rain makes me a little hesitant to think…

Too Fast

I made it home last weekend for some quality baby time. My brother and sister-in-law had twins at the end of December. When I saw these sweet babies a few weeks later, I gave very clear instructions that they were not allowed to grow from their sleepy, snuggly, tiny bodies until I saw them again. Clearly, they did not listen. Here’s a before: And after: They are growing up so fast! It’s amazing to see how their personalities are developing, and I can’t wait to see them again…

currently obsessing

We have some big news over here in Colorado…. Our first baby is joining our party in early August (maybe.. just maybe.. hoping for late July).  We are over the moon equal parts excited and anxious because as much as we love babies and kids we know our lives are about to be turned upside down. In the meantime- obsessing over all things baby.  Obviously. Favorite Nursery: I’m not sure who was more surprised.. me or anyone that knows us- when I didn’t jump to the obvious (and cute) ocean theme.  However, how cute is this mountain/ outdoor adventure theme?  Love, love, love.   Favorite Keepsake:  How cute is this pillow?  Not that I think that I’ll ever forget any of those details but I also didn’t think that I’d forget what day we engaged on.  (Luckily Cale doesn’t remember either…) Favorite Maternity Clothes:  I point blank asked Cale if I looked huge.   He immediately avoided eye contact and started working on the yard.  Point taken.  I am huge.  These aren’t the exact jeans I got but they fit great and come in talls…
