A potential snow shoeing adventure is in our near future however the 60 degree weather may turn our snow shoeing into hiking. I’m waiting for bedtime until my final batch of monster cookies is done baking.  You know when you start that batch of cookies after work and the internal debate about whether to throw the dough into the fridge for another day or bake just one more batch ensues? The batches were finished on this night.  Boo-ya!  Used this recipe and they are delish! My head is on a constant swivel for long sweaters.  My mom spotted this at the Loft and since they are always having incredible sales I was able to snag it for a great price.  If you saw my closet post-clean out you’d be impressed by the number of clothes I no longer have.  This sweater filled a gaping hole in my wardrobe. I’m saving my pennies for this beautiful purse.  It will probably be years before I take the plunge and buy it but the style is singing to me.  Singing…. While I’m pumped that the Broncos won the Super Bowl, I…

Hello Christmas season… and Christmas cookies!  Arguably, one of the best parts of Christmas (in my book) are the cookies that go along with it.  My mom did the best job of keeping Christmas cookies in a seemingly endless supply that ran out conveniently when Christmas was over.  The recipes were only pulled out once a year which made them even better at Christmas time.  Below are some of my faves… Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies:  You can never go wrong with peanut butter and chocolate and maybe to some this is a year long cookie.  But for us, this was a special Christmas cookie.  The cracked cookie carefully cradling the chocolate kiss.  Yum! Spritz Cookies:  I was so surprised to find this recipe because it doesn’t seem to me to be the most common Christmas cookie.  This is basically a butter and sugar cookie.  But honestly, what’s better.  The only tricky part about this cookie?  You need a cookie press (I don’t have one either, my mom still spoils us with these) although the investment is probably worth it. Oreo Truffles: The easiest recipe of the batch and so so delicious.  The…

Hey!  In case I haven’t mentioned it.. in every post for the past 2 weeks.  Thanksgiving!  Soon! Hallelujah! Aren’t the holidays just the greatest?  I mean, minus all of the stresses that go along with them but we are so so blessed that we are seeing family, getting new family (hello twins!), and getting time off work to spend quality time together.  Plus, Baby Jesus?!?! Thank you, Jesus (for real!). We have so many but not really any holiday traditions which makes zero sense.  Like, the Husband and I get presents for each other sometimes, but not always.  We spend a weekend away sometimes but not always.  We go to a Christmas concert sometimes but not always. However, Thanksgiving dinner is always my favorite.  We never listen to Christmas music (our fave!) until after Thanksgiving dinner.  And I refuse to get a Peppermint Mocha from Starbucks until Black Friday. Traditions, people. I’ve been trying to ease my panicked mind about how I’m going to get a hot Thanksgiving dinner on the table by looking up everything that can be made and prepped ahead of time.  It’s only a matter of…

After another week of 80 degree temperatures, dare I say that Denver is officially transitioning into fall?  Our house cools down into the 60’s every night now, which is slightly cool for me but perfect for the husband who roasts his way through every summer.  It’s just cold enough in the mornings that my toes are begging for something other than bare feet which has me looking at booties… Favorite Cowboy Boot Cross: Cowboy boots are in.  I get it.  Kind of.  Except I’m not a cowgirl.  These boots are the perfect casual cross between the bootie and the boot.  And the gray?!?  Swoon. Favorite spin of the classic:  I absolutely love the contrasting browns of this boot.  I’m already picturing 50 different outfits where this would fit perfectly.  Plus, it’s classic enough that you could have fun dressing it up or down.  And coffee colored leather and I are currently having a moment… I’ll have to show you my leather recliners sometime. Favorite Rain Boot Bootie:  I’m not much one for leopard print but if I lived somewhere where rain was a thing…
