Short of a couple of leftover sniffles, the Holiday Sickness of 2015 seems to be in our past (fingers crossed). After being hopeful that we would be able to attend 4 Christmas parties in 4 days, my poor body came down with the fever and aches round 2 after party number 1.
Better luck next year, Christmas parties.
Between fevers and aches, Cale and I managed to piece together our Christmas tree and even hung our stockings by the… T.V. stand… with care.
The outside lights didn’t happen (nor have they ever in the past) but there’s always this weekend. Or maybe next year.
The majority of our holiday plans and thoughts were centered around Thanksgiving, and it’s been hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that Christmas is 2 weeks away! While my favorite Christmas tradition was always the Christmas Eve service at church followed by gifts and snacks at home, my sweet husband loves to drive around town and go to the nearest mall to soak in some of the Christmas spirit.
We’re hoping to make it happen this weekend- with maybe a short drive up to see my grandma (we hope you’re free, Grandma!).
The best news is that our Christmas season is extended this year thanks to the United States Air Force and keeping my brother overseas for just a couple of weeks past the holiday season. Our best Christmas gift of all is of course baby Jesus but we are especially thankful this year for 2 new family members (hey babies!) and my brother finally being state-side!
I hope you all have the best holiday season, whether you’ll be able to be with your family, friends, or co-workers!
