Currently Obsessing

I like carbs.

And by I like carbs, what I mean to say is that if I was ever diagnosed with Celiac disease, I’d probably die of starvation.

My current carb obsession is biscuits. So please bear with me and try not to drool.

Morsel

Favorite cafe: Morsel. This place is the cause of my biscuit obsession. I went to the U District location, but there’s one in Ballard too. If you don’t live in Seattle, you should probably reconsider just so that you can eat here.

Favorite recipe: Clicking through Joy the Baker’s recipes was my guilty pleasure when I was an undergrad living in a dorm with one stove shared by fifty other college girls. I think the kitchen area was used for amateur haircuts more than it ever was for cooking. Now that I have a kitchen of my own (however tiny it may be), I get to make Joy the Baker’s recipes. And let me tell you, they’re winners. Like these biscuits. I made them. They’re good. Have I mentioned that I’m obsessing over biscuits??

Favorite sip: Have you heard that Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte is back for the fall? I know you shouldn’t mess with perfection, but please try this just once: Order a grande PSL and then ask for a pump of white chocolate and two pumps of pumpkin spice rather than the usual four pumps of pumpkin spice. So good. Better yet, go order this drink at your local coffee shop and support small businesses 🙂
