Retreat Center dreams and Etsy shop reality.

One of my dreams has been to start a retreat center where people with a common goal of learning and creating will gather together and enjoy good food, an encouraging atmosphere and some quality creative space and time – think wood working, quilting, fly tying, crocheting, picture framing,  knitting, sewing, baking, gardening, photography, etc.  I will bring in expert educators and people will be waiting in lines to come to this amazing creative space.  I will be greeting all the participants eagerly as they arrive and will be as excited as the participants to learn another new creative skill. Although that dream is not yet a reality, I will be minimally employed beginning July 1st (my grant funded position will no longer be funded)  and have an opportunity, with my daughters, to open an Etsy shop.  We have decided that since we are constantly making baby gifts, we will start with baby items, figure out the process, and then who knows. During month one we have gotten our tax ID, registered with the secretary of state in CO, and opened a bank account.  Today boxes were ordered to mail our items to customers.  Watch out Etsy here we come! &nbsp…

We’re coming back!

After a long, long, long break we’re coming back!  I’ve finally convinced my mom to open an Etsy shop (coming July 1st!) and Jenny is going to offer her family photography skills to the public.  Because of all these changes, we’ve decided to change around the layout of our blog!  Please be patient as we figure out all the kinks (the recipes!, linking the Etsy shop!, displaying photo galleries!). For non-tech geeks such as ourselves, this will take us some time.  Plus you know, baby.. jobs.. life! We’re really excited to use some of our creative juices in these outlets and can’t wait to show you what we’re planning. In the meantime, a certain baby is almost 11 months old!  Life has never been more fun as more and more of his personality shines through every day. Like his insatiable curiosity- he is currently pressing all of the buttons on the keyboard so sorry for the typos! Please comment on anything that appears broken on our site and we will do our best to fix it as soon as we can. &nbsp…

Back… I think

My apologies for being so absent. Not to make excuses, but here are my excuses: My 2016 taxes say that I had 5 different employers (I think that also adds up to about 500 job applications). I moved. I got MARRIED! The past year has been a whirl wind of huge life changes, lessons in patience, and amazing adventures. Through it all, God has reminded me that He has everything under the sun in His control and that His plans are greater than anything we could imagine. He has also filled my life with some of the best people that this world has to offer. I’m hoping my brain will have some free bandwidth in the coming months, which means I can get back to cooking food, creating art and sharing my adventures with you…

Where to begin…

Greetings from somewhere in the 7 month post baby.  I actually have a 3 month post baby update somewhere.  Maybe I’ll publish that later… Jenny and I are still alive and well as far as I’m aware. 🙂  Jenny is now married (!), has a job (!), and is probably conquering the world. Aannnd nothing much has changed in my life. Carter and I have a case of the Mondays today which means that I’m somehow so tired that I could cry which means he’s boycotting nap time and crying every chance he gets.  Which means that me could crying is turning into actual tears.  #AndthenIwenttoStarbucks #AndTarget #YesIamastayathomemom Cale has promised sweet parenting relief as soon as he enters the door.  But since it’s Monday and it’s that kind of Monday probably won’t be until 7 or later. Despite everything listed above I’ve never been in a sweeter moment of life and, in fact, cannot imagine how life gets much sweeter.  My little family of three is enjoying this time in life of being the world’s best homebodies.  Cale and I celebrate every time…
